Nowadays cool designs for pumpkins hold a very great significance in the lives of many people, as they are used in the making of a jack-o’-lantern, which is associated with the holiday of Halloween, although a turnip may also be used in the process.
In the design of a jack-o’-lantern, the top of the pumpkin is cut off in order to form a lid, and then the inside flesh of the pumpkin is scooped out and after this, an image which usually resembles the face of a monster is carved out, and the pumpkin’s interior is exposed which is now hollow. The lantern effect on the pumpkin is created with placement of a light source in the pumpkin before the lid of the pumpkin is closed, usually with the help of a flame or with an electric candle.
Many designs of pumpkin are used, all of which resembles that of a monster. This design, when illuminated through the use of a lighting device, creates a very horror feel, which is quite perfect with the tradition of Halloween.
